My Story to you
I am a 25 year old dynamic WA/C who has played SSN for the NSW Swifts. My vision at PLAYFIT, is to support entry level to elite netballers of all ages/abilities. As an athlete, coach, and teacher I understand that enhancing your netball skills, elevating your performance and building confidence is something that is achieved uniquely. I am a technical coach, but also someone with extensive experience that can modify a session to suit the player/team.
My netball journey began at 9 years old playing for the Cronulla Sharks Netball Club in the Sutherland Shire Netball Association. Playing junior representative netball was a highlight of my early netball journey... training, playing, meeting new friends, some of whom are now my best friends! My commitment to training and approach to learning led to me proudly representing NSW in both the U17's and U19's state teams, selection in Australian U17 squad, and a 3-year NSW Institute of Sport netball scholarship. My first Open Australian Netball League selection was in 2017, playing for the NSW Waratahs as a Yr.12 student travelling interstate weekly, learning to balance study and extensive training. My career continued as a NSW Swifts Academy athlete and NSW Swifts training partner over the past years. My professional Suncorp Super Netball League career began with a debut in 2022 and in 2023 as a replacement player for the NSW Swifts. Competing in the SSN 2023 Grand Final has been a career highlight.
2024 was my first official season as a full-time contracted player with the NSW Swifts. Receiving the news of my position was a day I will never forget. But like anything in professional sport, the highs can sometimes be short lived. In the space of a year, I had experienced both the high of receiving my first contract, to low of losing that same position. After some reflection and learning from the year I had, I was confronted with the scary question “what now?”. Most reading this would probably answer with “your time has ended”. But as I write this story and look back to everyone that has led me to where I am now, I owe not only them but the young Lili reading this, to find hope during a time of where hope may look lost. And with that I have decided to remain in the Swifts environment as a training partner for 2025.
Balancing my studies with netball allowed me to graduate my Bachelor of Education at ACU. As I continue to chase the dream of a full-time position in SSN, I have realised the importance of life after sport. Teaching has allowed me to fuse my passions, by providing me an opportunity to influence young athletic and academic development. I hope that with a story like mine, with the importance of overcoming adversity that they too, can chase their dreams.
Allow me the honour in finding the best version of you both on and off the netball court.
